About

About National Calculators

Clear calculators for life, money and tax, country by country.

National Calculators is a free set of calculators for salary, tax, benefits, health and everyday life. Each country tax calculator is localised to a specific country, so the figures match the local rules, currency and tax year rather than a generic one-size answer. Universal tools such as BMI and loan calculators work everywhere, adapted to your currency and units.

How the figures are kept accurate

Tax and benefit numbers are sensitive, so every country-specific calculator follows the same discipline:

The full process, including how health figures and the comparison datasets are handled, is set out in our editorial standards.

Even with that process, the calculators are estimates for general guidance, not financial, tax or legal advice. Individual circumstances vary and rules change. Always confirm with the official sources before making decisions.

Who builds it

National Calculators is built and maintained by Vikas Dulgunde, a London-based software engineer who has spent the past several years building financial tools and data products. Every calculator ships with reference cases checked against official worked examples (HMRC, national tax authorities, the World Bank and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis among them) before it goes live, and is rechecked whenever rates change. It is an independent project, not affiliated with any government or tax authority. If you spot a figure that looks wrong, please get in touch; corrections are taken seriously and applied quickly.
